It is official, a new Overlord game has been announced!
www.overlordthegame.com/uk/hom… - Overlord: Fellowship of Evil - Coming later in 2015
What is it: A new co-op Overlord RPG game (that can also be played in single player mode) set after the events of Overlord 2, which seems to be very Diablo / Magicka / Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing -like in terms of the gameplay and camera controls (top down view that moves along the characters). If you ever played Overlord: Minions on the Nintendo DS, that might be a good reference as well. Better graphics of course.
What is it about: After the defeat of the previous Overlord, the one who used to be known as Overlad and who conquered the Glorious Empire in Overlord 2, the minions have been driven to the deepest corners of the Netherworld, known as the Netherdeep. A strange plague of goodness called the Golden is spreading which is approaching the Netherdeep and is also threatening the minions. The minions are literally on the edge of being wiped out, due to the Goodness also being able to affect them.
Gnarl, the minion master and devoted servant of Evil, comes up with a plan to resurrect 4 potential Overlord candidates who are known as the Nethergûl. The characters in question are an elf, a dwarf (who both killed each other), a warrior, and a necromancer. Their names and roles are as follows: Inferna, the warrior. Malady, the necromancer. Hakon, a dwarven rogue (at least in the previous life). Cyros, a Dark Elf Prince (in previous life as well).
So is this Overlord 3 or not: The game is called Overlord: Fellowship of Evil. The team behind it did NOT want to call it Overlord 3. So there may yet be a day when we see a more "traditional" single player oriented Overlord game. This is not that game however.
Is Rhianna Pratchett still involved: Yes. Rhianna is again in charge of writing the story, lines, and everything else. She also might have an even bigger role this time around, but that remains to be seen.
What systems will this game be available on: According to the new footage, Overlord: Fellowship of Evil will be available on Xbox One, PS4, and Steam on PC. Potential physical PC release on store shelves might happen as well, but it will use Steam non the less (like so many other PC games do these days).
New trailer narrated by Gnarl:
The team behind the game telling a bit more about it:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Old stuff here with few old updates in the endSo apparently Gnarl and some minions fell from the sky during the solar eclipse. Proof can be found from the following twitter channels that activated earlier during and after the solar eclipse on 20th of March. The twitter channels in question are belonging to both Gnarl (@overlordgame) and Codemasters (@ codemasters), and they had a VERY intriguing and interesting exchange of tweets.
You can see the tweets that Gnarl himself wrote, over here: twitter.com/Overlordgame
As to Codemasters reactions and replies to Gnarl (apparently Gnarl stole a phone or a tablet of some description from their IT department): twitter.com/codemasters
Now one could easily think that this was the work of a fan and that Codemasters rolled with it. But since then, Codemasters has confirmed to different media outlets that Gnarl's twitter account does belong to an employee who is working for them.
But then they posted this:
"Ohhh shi....... RUNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!

That there, is the helmet belonging to the Overlord from Overlord and Overlord: Raising Hell. Or at least it looks extremely similar to it. It also apparently fell from the sky along with the minions during the eclipse. Oh my.
Edit: According to , same helmet was used back in 2009 to market Overlord games. Other game studios have also used previous assets while marketing new games through social media, so fret not.
I do believe it is more than safe to presume that Overlord 3 is in the making. As soon as we get more information, we will update you all. For now, turn your eyes to those two twitter channels and see what happens.
As Gnarl himself said 11 hours ago (as of writing this journal post):
"Gnarl @Overlordgame · 11 hours ago
Evil always finds a way."
Update: Triumph Studios, the previous developer behind many Overlord games, posted the following tweets on their Twitter channel @Triumphstudios:
"For the people inquiring about @Overlordgame - this series is owned by @ Codemasters, PR and announcements are handled by them.
Given that there is no actual announcement, we’re not going to comment on our involvement at this stage. "
UPDATE 2!
It's Official! A new Overlord game is in the making!
Feast your eyes and reminiscence with this "Previously on Overlord" trailer, straight from Codemasters youtube channel and Overlord's facebook page:

4 Overlords this time around. So will it be an RPG of sorts this time around, or a MOBA? Will inform you all tomorrow when more material is released!
According a tweet on Triumph Studios twitter channel, Triumph will not be involved with this new Overlord game. It will be, apparently, entirely made by Codemasters. Credit for the original creators of Overlord along with Triumph is given at the end of the trailer.
Codemasters also retweeted the trailer and few tweets by Rhianna Pratchett. So it is safe to say that Rhianna is also involved, at least on one lever or another, in the making of this new Overlord game. Gnarl's twitter account has also been very vocal today, and you can read the latest tweets over here: twitter.com/Overlordgame
In short, Gnarl apparently mugged a bunch of school children and used a Panda as a powersource for recharging the tablet they stole from Codemasters. Fantastic.

Merry Midwinter, go burn down that tree!
Once more it is that time of the year when the Great Old Ones descend down from the stars and begin their fantastic assault on the minds of- oh wait this is not the H.P Lovecraft fanclub. Ahem. Let us try that again.
The %Overlord-Fanclub (https://www.deviantart.com/overlord-fanclub) wants to wish you all a Merry Midwinter / Solstice once again and a pleasant holiday season this year! Onwards, towards another year filled with all manner of Overlord related goodies in the form of art, stories, and other great things! As always, our intention is to provide you, the fans of the Overlord games, a lovely hub from where you can find all manner of evil things relating to the Overlord game
Super group and group re-organising
Due to investment by ~Sunjinjo (https://www.deviantart.com/sunjinjo) and yours truly :iconakernis: this not-so-humble fan group has now been upgraded to a Super Group, which add a lot of new fancy features that we may or may not figure out how to use.
Furthermore, through long-time scheming and insidious infiltration I have finally managed to worm myself into a position of executive power and administrative authority within this illustrious society of darkness; and as such I thought it only appropriate that I immediately set to work abusing my new position for Evil. As such I have made some changes to better reflect this new regime of terror and structured wickedness.

Merry Midwinter Once Again!
Though the previous year evidently was not as pleasant as it could have been on many different areas of life, we still have a a week and a half left that we can enjoy. And what better way to kick those days off than with a traditional Midwinter greeting.
The %Overlord-Fanclub (https://www.deviantart.com/overlord-fanclub) wishes you all a splendid Midwinter, once again! Go burn the Midwinter tree in Nordberg, drink some mulled wine and fill yourself with gingerbread and other pre-Yuletide things that you can steal from the pantry as you watch the tree burn, before finally spreading some Midwinter cheer to those pesky Imperials in the form of rocks from their own catapults. After all
Improvement ideas for Overlord: Fellowship of Evil
Well, we all know how Overlord: Fellowship of Evil has been received, and one month after release we could discuss ideas that would have made the game better.
Please don't:
-suggest they should have made Overlord 3 instead. It is no secret that everyone wanted a sequel, this journal is specifically about the top-down perspective co-op game. If you have ideas for a proper sequel, the journal for those is here: http://overlord-fanclub.deviantart.com/journal/Ideas-and-wishes-for-the-next-Overlord-instalment-387575479
-rant about how much you hate FoE. Rants about FoE are more common on the internet than cat videos, this journal is for civil disc
